Kvinder med store tunge bryster kan få foretaget en brystreduktion for at afhjælpe bl.a. fysiske symptomer grundet brysternes usædvanlig store vægt.
En brystreduktion kan sædvanligvis løse disse problemer, ligesom operationen kan forbedre størrelsen og formen af dine bryster.
For at sikre det bedste resultat tilrådes det at have en stabil vægt og et body mass index (BMI) omkring 25. En brystreduktion hos overvægtige kvinder med en BMI omkring 30 eller derover kan medføre komplikationer i form af dårlig heling, og derfor er det ikke noget, som vi anbefaler.
For kvinder over 40 år, og for kvinder med genetisk disposition til brystkræft, er en mammografi før brystreduktion påkrævet.
Tunge bryster kan være meget generende for den enkelte kvinde. Mange kvinder er tilmed familiært disponeret for at få tunge – og måske asymmetriske – bryster, mens andre kan opleve problemer efter graviditet , amning eller vægtøgning.

Operationen
En brystreduktion hos Agata Privathospital udføres altid i fuld bedøvelse, og selve operationen varer i ca. 2-3 timer. I forbindelse med operationen fjerner vi overskydende hud samt brystvæv – en fedtsugning kan også komme på tale, hvis der sidder ekstra meget fedtvæv i brystet. Er brysterne meget tunge og store, kan det komme på tale at fjerne brystvorterne i forlængelse med brystreduktionen. Efterfølgende kan brystvorterne transplanteres tilbage til en ny position.
Det er meget forskelligt fra patient til patient, hvor meget brystvæv der er nødvendigt at fjerne. Det kan være alt fra et par hundrede gram til flere kilo brystvæv. Men døjer du med gener fra en meget tung barm, så anbefaler vi, at der bliver fjernet minimum 500 gram brystvæv fra hvert bryst.
Brystvorten løftes typisk til en ny, højere placering. Vi sørger samtidig for, at forbindelserne i mælkegangene bevares, så du stadig har mulighed for at amme efter operationen.
Placering af arret
Størrelsen af arrene afhænger af, hvor meget brystvæv der fjernes. Vi kan lave arrene alene omkring brystvorten med et lodret ar ned til brystfolden – et såkaldt Lollipop – eller et ankerformet ar omkring brystvorten med et ar i midterlinjen under brystet. Hos AGATA Privathospital sørger vi altid for, at arrene bliver så pæne som muligt.
Efter din operation
24 timer efter operationen fjernes drænet – men i nogle tilfælde kan det sidde i 2-3 dage. Derfor overnatter patienter også ofte på klinikken efter operationen. Det er helt normalt, at der opstår små hævelser i området omkring arrene i dagene efter operationen. Dette vil dog aftage med tiden for til sidst at forsvinde efter et par måneder. Er der smerter, så kan der tages smertestillende medicin – evt. antibiotika – henvist fra lægen. I den første måned efter brystreduktionen bør du ikke løfte armene over skulderhøjde, ligesom du heller ikke må lave tunge løft. Alle løft over 2 kilo frarådes.
Arrene på brysterne skal beskyttes mod solens ultraviolette lys i de første 12-18 måneder efter operationen. Resultatet af brystreduktionen er varigt så længe vægten holdes stabilt.
Forventet resultat efter en brystreduktion
Ved en brystreduktion reduceres størrelsen af dine bryster og de gøres fastere. Med mindre du tager på/taber meget i vægt eller bliver gravid, bør din bryststørrelse forblive næsten konstant.
Ar fra din brystreduktion vil hele og blegne med tiden. Heldigvis kan ar ved brystreduktion behandles med fx Elipse Fraxel 1550 her på klinikken.
